Building-Safety Division

The Building Division finds it is in the best interest of the public health, safety and welfare of citizens and the general public to ensure public safety through the enforcement of city, state, and federal codes governing construction.

To ensure code compliance, staff reviews plans, issues building permits, and performs inspections related to the following aspects:

• Electrical
• Fuel gas
• Handicap accessibility
• Heating and air conditioning
• Life safety
• Plumbing
• Structural integrity

The Division recognizes that safe buildings are vital to maintaining a safe and economically stable community. We endeavor to diligently enforce building codes through cooperation and open communication.
