Newest Edition to the Police Department

Artemis, a German Shorthaired Pointer, is a narcotics canine and the newest addition to the Apopka Police Department! The DEA requested our Police Department purchase the canine to assist with narcotics cases.

Employee Recognition Ceremony

A recognition ceremony was held prior to our Council meeting to honor employees with milestone employment anniversaries. Thank you for your dedication and service to the City!

61st Apopka Art and Foliage Festival

Members of the Apopka Woman's Club celebrated the 61st Apopka Art and Foliage Festival with a proclamation from City Council.

Miss Apopka

City Council welcomed the new Miss Apopka, Sarah Sarver, to City Hall and unveiled her portrait. Congratulations Sarah!

Easter Celebration at Camp Wewa

The City of Apopka hosted an Easter Celebration at Camp Wewa, which included an Easter egg hunt, face painting, bounce house, and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny!

Highway 441 Improvements

The City in conjunction with the Florida Department of Transportation made several safety enhancements to U.S. 441 between Bradshaw and Central for pedestrians and motorists alike installing medians and bike lanes.

Denim Day Proclamation

The City honored the Victim Service Center of Central Florida (VSC) with a proclamation proclaiming April 26, 2023, as Denim Day for all their work helping victims of sexual violence.

Downtown Vision Plan

Students in the University of Central Florida's Urban and Regional Planning Master's Program presented a Downtown Apopka Vision Plan as part of their capstone project.

Best Foot Forward Campaign

The Best Foot Forward Program brings awareness to pedestrian safety at busy street crosswalks, such as the crosswalk at Park and Tanglewilde near Apopka Memorial Middle School.

Little Free Library at City Hall

There is now a little free library located at City Hall thanks to the collaborative efforts of Re-Imagine Communities and the students from the Randall Academy Construction Program. Be sure to check it out!

City Honors Denim Day

 In addition to the Denim Day Proclamation, City employees raised funds to help VSC and City Hall was illuminated teal to support the cause.
